Information we handle

You can browse wallpapers without creating an account. Favorites are stored on your device by default. If you sign in with Google or Apple, Firebase Authentication processes the account identifier, email address, and profile information needed to authenticate you and synchronize your favorites. We do not sell this information.

When you like or download a wallpaper, Mewscape sends an anonymous installation identifier and the wallpaper action so that community counts and abuse protections work. This identifier is not intended to identify you personally. If you enable push notifications, Firebase Cloud Messaging processes a device token, app version, platform, and language so we can deliver service notifications.

Firebase Analytics may process app interactions, app instance identifiers, device information, and diagnostics to measure usage, improve reliability, and understand which features are useful. Analytics data is handled by Google as our service provider and is not used to show ads in Mewscape.

The administrator-only Pinterest integration lets an authenticated Mewscape administrator connect one Pinterest business account and publish selected wallpapers. To create a Pin, Mewscape sends Pinterest the selected wallpaper's public image URL, title, description, and Mewscape detail link. Pinterest OAuth refresh tokens are encrypted and stored only by our Cloudflare Worker; they are never placed in the mobile apps or collected as a Pinterest password.

How information is used and shared

We use the information above to provide wallpaper browsing, favorites, account synchronization, notifications, security, analytics, Pinterest publishing, and account deletion. We use Google Firebase services for authentication, messaging, and analytics, Pinterest for the administrator's requested Pin publishing, and Cloudflare services for hosting, storage, and delivery. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not currently serve advertising.

Retention and deletion

Device-only favorites remain on your device until you remove them or clear the app. Account-synchronized favorites and your Firebase account are deleted when you use the in-app delete-account option or the web account deletion page. Pinterest connection data and stored Pins remain until the administrator disconnects or replaces the Pinterest connection, or NEAR2 removes the integration. Anonymous, aggregated like and download counts are not connected to your account and may remain.

Your choices

Account sign-in is optional. The Pinterest connection is optional and limited to administrators. You can manage favorites locally, turn off notifications in device settings, limit analytics where your device provides that control, and request account deletion at any time. The app does not require access to your contacts, microphone, camera, or precise location.
